10+2 (Technical) Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course Commencing Jul 2010



Applications are invited from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions regarding nationality as laid down by the govt. of India) to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under 10+2 (Technical) Cadet Entry Scheme.
  • Eligibility Conditions:
    • Age: 17 to 19 1/2 years (i.e. born between 02 Jan 1991 & Jul 1993 (both dates inclusive)
    • Educational Qualification: Sr. Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/ Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII)
    • Physical Standards:
      • Height and Weight: Minimum height 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
      • Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/18, 6/18 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses, should not be colour/ night blind.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSIONED OFFICER
AS PILOT
COURSE COMMENCING – JUL 2010

Age: 19 to 23 years born between 02 Jul 1987 and 01 Jul 1991; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications
A graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks with Mathematics & Physics
at 10+2 level.

Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height 162.5 cms with correlated weight, leg length,
sitting height and thigh length.

(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable
to 6/6, 6/6. Should not be colour/night blind.

Note : There will be no relexation in Physical Standards.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject
to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate.
On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

6. Officers inducted under this scheme will not be given extension beyond fourteen years and
will not be eligible for permanent commission.
